Bok Tower
Bok Tower Gardens is a contemplative garden, and bird sanctuary located north of Lake Wales, Florida, United States. It consists of a 250-acre garden, the 205-foot tall Singing Tower with its carillon bells. The Gardens boasts one of the greatest works by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr.
Sebring Speedway
Sebring International Raceway is a road course auto racing facility in the southeastern United States, located near Sebring, Florida. Sebring Raceway is one of the oldest continuously operating racetracks in the U.S., its first race being run in 1950. The first 12 Hours of Sebring was held on March 15, 1952, shortly growing into a major international race.
Hammock State Park
Highlands Hammock State Park is a 9,000-acre park 4 miles west of Sebring in Highlands County, Florida, off U.S. 27. The park opened in 1931, four years before the Florida state park system was created. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. Elevated boardwalks meander through an old-growth bald cypress swamp with cabbage palmettos, ferns, bromeliads, orchids and other epiphytes. Some trees are believed to be over a thousand years old, and one is possibly the largest oak in Florida, with a girth of over 36 feet.
Wildstein Performing Arts Center - Located at South Florida State College
In addition to its role as the only postsecondary institution in the district, SFSC serves as a cultural focal point, providing quality entertainment to Florida’s Heartland since 1984. The six performance series offered are the Artist, Matinee, Jazz, Kaleidoscope, summer, and Young People’s Theatre. Performances are held on the Highlands Campus in the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts and the 245-seat SFSC University Center Auditorium. Past performers have included Englebert Humperdink, Bob Newhart, Marie Osmond, and the Smothers Brothers.
